This fabulous Louis XV style chandelier deploys around a bronze metal structure made of stems and forming a central “cage”. This thin metal skeleton has sinuous curves adorned by a sumptuous decor of thin but large hand pressed and polished crystal plaquettes, each surmounted by a star or a rosette aimed at masking the attaching point of pendeloques and plaquettes. The central metal stem is covered by a succession of hand-blown and cut crystal balusters and vases (“pieces d’enfilage” in French). The two lower levels are supporting 4 light arms for one and 8 for the other. They are surmounted by a 4 arms crown with pendeloques and a polished brass canopy with 6 arms holding crystal stars and gorgeous plaquettes. The central stem is terminated by an handmade pear shaped crystal ornament (“bas de lustre”). The Antique Louis XV style chandeliers have, due to the thin metal “cage” and the outstanding quality of their pendants, an incredible lightness look and are for many the most refined among all French styles Chandeliers.
