Important Louis XV period lavabo on its original walnut furniture. The pewter water tank shows a ‘double” curve in front, is topped by a molded cover having two nice grips and is equipped with its two original bronze taps. The basin, also curved and with moldings has a large back made to protect the wood from the water splashes and two beautiful handles on its sides, used when emptying it.
Superb support in walnut with a cornice in “chapeau de gendarme” shape and arched feet in front of the handsome one door cabinet (one shelf inside) supporting the basin. Both the pewter and the wood furniture have a wonderful patina provided by their 250 years of existence!
This fountain comes from the Region of Lyon.
