19th Century Duchesse or Chaise Longue in Louis XVI Style

Very handsome “Duchesse” made during Napoleon III period in Louis XVI style. Made of solid beechwood tinted and then gilded, its backrest is in three segments separated by a thin piece of wood and surmounted by a “Ruban” (ribbon) wood sculpture showing two superb Roses on top. The flat wood frame has an all-around decor of a carved pearls filet in top of a “Raie de Coeur” filet. The two armrest are acanthus leaves and “Entrelacs” carved. The all duchesse rest on six tapered and fluted feet. Great blue with white dots upholstery in heavy cotton and in perfect condition.
