19th Century French Bibliotheque in Mahogany

Superb bookcase from Napoleon III period in Louis XVI style.
Gorgeous solid mahogany so called Bird’s eye with a French polish
finish. Beautiful brass filets moulding on top front and bottom.
Each side is adorned by a diamond shaped bronze dore decor
representing mascaron and mythological animals. It opens by two
front doors, having glass covering 70% of them. The original key is
actionning a “cremailliere” lock which will move steel stems top
and bottom for easily and safely closing. Resting on 4 feet, the two
front ones in “toupie” shape. Inside has five adjustable (original) wooden shelves covered in front by a mahogany veneer.
Its relatively small size and its important storage capacity added to its superb appearance, make this bibliotheque a very attractive piece of furniture.
