Robert L. P. Lavoine is a French Artist (1916-1999) who exercised mostly on Normandie and Brittany shores. This oil work represents the entrance of the harbour of Honfleur. A Normandie city on the ocean since the 11th century. It is known for its beautiful and picturesque port painted many times by artist like Gustave Courbet, Eugene Boudin and Claude Monet, forming the “ecole de Honfleur” which contributed to the appearance of the impressionist movement.
