Elegant pair of bronze cranes of the Meiji Period, with finely detailed beak, feathers, legs and feet. Raised on black granite base (recent). Probably sculpted as garden ornament in a bronze body with green color and red spot on top of the head.
Red crown cranes is the second rarest crane in the world and is revered both in Japan and China as a symbol of good fortune, longevity and fidelity.
