Magnificent and refined clock made under Napoleon III time after a model registered by Francois Vion (Bronze Master) in 1786 in Paris, under Louis XVI reign.
Structure in finely chased and gilded bronze figuring the allegory of Psyche enlacing her lover Eros with a flowers garland. It rest on a white Carrara marble base ornated on three sides by bronze dore bas-reliefs of Putti playing. Also on base front left side, the bow and torch of love in bronze dore as well.
The large enameled dial, in perfect condition, has black painted Arabic hours numbers and two gilded hands. The bronze dore front door has a convex glass slightly beveled on its edge when the back door is in gilded metal.
The clock has its beautiful original gilding. It is resting on five bronze dore adjustable feet.
Has a 8-day time and strike (rings hours and half hour) movement marked “Vincenti, Medaille d’argent 1855 “and “made in France”. Movement verified and cleaned by a clocksmith .
