French Empire Period ormolu bronze clock representing Goddess Flora flowering earth. Exceptional clock from Napoleonic Period representing the Allegory of Flora -symbol of Nature and flowers-seated in a Greco Roman attire with her feet resting on a curule and holding in one hand a Cornucopia when the other hand is fertilizing the globe.The blue enameled sphere is ornated by flowers on its top and an ormolu bronze belt featuring zodiacal signs.
Fabulous chased and and ormolu gilded Frieze on base representing an angel with a sheaf on his shoulder and surrounded by columns , pedestals and three enormous garland of flowers.The four adjustable feet are ormolu decorated with little flowers as well !
Absolutely superb work of gilded sculptures all over the clock.
Impeccable dial enameled in white with black Roman numerals.
