Oil on canvas painted by “Leon Lafourcade” (1898-1968) also known as “Leolaf”. Signature on bottom left. La Rochelle is an old French city situated on the Atlantic coast with Bretagne on North and Bordeaux on South. Its port is famous for the 14th and 15th century towers (visible on this oil), the fortifications build by Vauban and also because the city was early 16th century the capital of the French Huguenots who left -because Religious persecution-in huge numbers for Canada and USA from that Port.
