Oil on canvas representing “Martigues le Brescon” called also “La petite Venise Provencale” by Vincent Manago (French 1880-1936). Martigues is a city next to Marseille and had a small fisherman port represented here. V. Manago specialized in Marines of the Mediterranean coast (France, Venice) and in Orientalist paintings, always using vivid colors. He was extremely popular in Marseille from 1900-1913 and a museum in Gray (France) keeps several of his paintings.
