This solid beech wood Armchair called “a la Reine” for its large flat back was made in the 1st part of 19th Century, in an early Louis XV style (called “Regence ” in France) with gorgeous hand carving of foliage scrolls and shells on the frame. Has been painted in white with a turquoise “rechampi” which underline the carving. Upholstered with a blue velvet. Very generously scaled.
