France – Circa 1870, Napoleon III style
Truly gorgeous console from the end of 19thCentury, having outstanding black patinated scrolls of wrought iron work on the cincture, the two front legs and front spacer. Superb “repousse” work decor of Acanthus leaves. The front legs are covered by large gilded repousse leaves surmounted each by gilded garland of “oves”( fruits or eggs in their husk or shell) in forged iron, typical of a end of 19th Century decor.
Top is an exceptional double beveled and moulded “Rose vif des Pyrenees” marble of 1.5″ thickness.
