A Delightful pair of Period Louis XVI Armchairs, with an incredibly elegant silhouette and variegated ornamentation on their backrest, posts, armrests and legs. Square backed and decorated by handmade beads and olive Laurel all around, concave top rails center to better show the Louis XVI hallmark ribbon knot and to hold the top of the oval medallion on which back rests. Two -very unique- carved “columns” are securing this back.
The upper part of the armrest are also beaded and nicely link to the back the fronts are carved with acanthus leaves. The front legs are fluted with “rudenture” on their bottom the back legs are saber shaped
Front legs and consoles of the armrest are carved out of a single piece of wood, as well as the entire back post. Usual rosace at the “de” connecting the posts and the bottom rails.
