Its Provenance is the ” Palais du Roi de Rome” in Rambouillet (near Paris).
Almost square shaped its frame and legs are in rosewood veneer on beechwood. Raised on four straight and slightly tapered legs terminated by 11/4″ violet wood also visible as a baguette at their top. Covered by an Aubusson tapestry from that period tacked to the wood and with a flower decor. All sides having the same finish, this bench can be located anywhere in a room.
DATE OF MANUFACTURE: 1890
CONDITION: Excellent. Aubusson has some repairs to secure the pattern.
