Superb 19th Century French Wall Clock in Louis XV St.
France Ca 1890
Extremely decorative clock (named Cartel in French) in mahogany inlaid with gorgeous chiseled and gilded bronzes representing Roses and acanthus leaves. The top is surmounted by a bronze doré' "Urn a l'antique" topped by a pine cone. The large white glazed dial has both black Roman and Arabic numerals and is marked "Planchon in Paris. Wonderful hand cut brass hands.
The movement inside marked "Marti et Cie, 1889, Medaille d'Argent" runs for eight days and strikes the hours.
Got its pendulum and key.
