Inkstand in Bronze Doré and Chinoiserie Lacquered Tray

Rare and superb Louis XV period inkstand finely chased and gilded bronze base in a Rocaille decor of stylized leaves and shells. Resting on a Chinoiserie lacquered wooden tray is a Rocaille gilt bronze pen holder and two gilt-bronze inkwells. The inkwells are adorned by oak leaves surmounted by a brown bronze acorn to open the top and are surrounded by a lacquered wooden bowl. Extremely decorative inkstand which would provide elegance to any place in the house but also on top of a table or desk.
