Napoleon III Oval Jardiniere in Mahogany
France Ca 1860
This large planter has a frame made of mahogany veneer on beech wood with flat top around the liner and a "chantourne" low apron on the four sides. Supported by four cabriole legs in solid wood, providing a nice refined shape to the jardiniere. The liner is in zinc and is resting on a very solid wood floor underneath. It could hold more than two cubic feet of soil with flowers and plants at the top.
