This gorgeous bronze made by Horace Daillion (French 1854-1937) has a gold patina and is on an eye catching "vert -Maurin" (French Alps) marble base. Signed "H Daillion" and marked "Fundicion Artistica, J. Mazzuchelli". Louis Pasteur (French 1822-1895) was a Physicist and a Chemist by training and became a pioneer of microbiology. After his famous crystallographic work, he created the 1st vaccine for Rabies (1885) and Anthrax and a method called "Pasteurization" to stop milk and wine from causing sickness. His figure of "Disinterested Scientist" was recognized by the French Academy of Science in 1862 and they gave him the title of "Humanity Beneficent Scientist" The "Pasteur Institute" -still famous today in the world- was created in 1885.
