French Louis XVI Period Mantel Trumeau Mirror "A Parecloses"
France Ca 1780
Truly unique trumeau mirror in gilded wood and stucco and lacquered in water green. The upper part surrounded by moldings and finely carved knotted two loops ribbon so representative of Louis XVI Pd-linked to atrophy of torch and quiver within olives leaves. All this rich carving on water gilded background. The central mirror is surrounded on three sides by a superb gilded wooden frieze. Both sides are "a park closes" with high and narrow mirrors inside moldings, providing both an elegant and powerful aspect.
